my girls

i love talking about purity with my girls.
this past weekend we had a girls' retreat up at Horn's Creek. even though it was only for one night, i loved every minute of it. the girls that went on the retreat opened up in different ways to each other & unity came. the theme was on purity but also on the path where God or Satan can take you depending the choices you make.

the Lord used me to tell a girl how beautiful she really is. me and two other leaders were praying for her and i was asked to find a verse for her. earlier that night we talked about two of my favorite verses: Song of Solomon 4:7 & Psalm 45:11. and as i was telling her how beautiful she is and how God is amazed by her, i could just feel the Lord crying out and saying "you're beautiful, you're beautiful!" i almost started crying. my heart was broken for her. the way i felt has stuck with me the last couple of days. the Lord wants us.

i saw Valentine's Day (the movie) tonight. it was really cute and funny. certain parts were a little awkward. a couple of parts were kind of inappropriate to me. after talking about purity and guarding your heart, it makes you more aware of everything you do. i like that b/c the Holy Spirit is moving.

starbursts

note to self:
do not eat a pack of starbursts within a two hour span and then drink a vanilla latte. i feel a little sick.

the women's oasis conference was this weekend at Metro. i think it went really well. women got baptized in the Holy Spirit last night and this morning. this morning's message was about asking what God to do in every situation. John 2:5 says "to do what ever Jesus tells you to do." Mary is telling her servants this... to obey Jesus... and water was turned into wine. this made me think. i pray all the time asking for help in certain situations but i forget to sit and listen to the answer that God wants to give me. it was a great reminder that i needed to hear. i believe that i could have dealt with situations so much better this last year at school than i did.

i went to a dance recital with caroline tonight. it was so good to hang out with her. i love her. we saw some good dances. found some new songs i liked. Sleeping Beauty was great. we now want to start a modern dance group at church... i would have to re-take a dance class to refresh myself. but having a dance group would be so much fun even if it's just the two of us.

"no one else can satisfy my heart like Jesus, no one else can satisfy heart." this was sung in the prayer room in KC. i would love to go up there for a month and just sit in the prayer room for the entire time. "You bring restoration, to my soul." love listening to it!

observations of the day:
1. PDA in B&N is not appropriate
2. there is a such thing of a pink overload
3. i have realized that i want to work out more- i'm enjoying it more.
4. i don't like to be exhausted.... i get mean.
5. i really want to tie-dye again (pics are to come of my awesome tie-dye shirt)

Morning thoughts

i love laptops. they are so convenient. either sitting on the couch or laying in bed using it. it's so nice. i just watched the end of Cool Runnings. what a great movie.

my roommate tell me that i do not know the art of sleeping in. she can sleep for 12 hours or more and i can only sleep for 7-9 hours. it's kind of sad that i can't sleep more than that.

i really enjoyed waking up this morning feeling the presence of God. i love the peace He gives when i need it. He definitely knows me better than i know myself and he believes in me more than i believe in myself. He is so good! His love satisfies me more than anything. i'm ready to fulfill the calling he has for me. last night at UnAshamed, tyler spoke about the last 24 hours of Jesus' life on earth. it was really good. tyler described what Jesus went through to die for you and me. my heart was set free again last night by giving a burden, that i have been carrying all week, up to him.

i'm excited to go home this weekend and see some of my old friends that i haven't seen since christmas.

enough rambling now.

sigh

as kendall said it earlier to me... it has been an humbling day.

first, this morning in my asian religions class i got really frustrated because of what the Pure Land Buddhists believe in. they are so deceived and i just kept getting mad so i just started to pray for the followers of Pure Land Buddhism. they are so beautiful and it makes my heart long for them and for China. i pray that God will break into their hearts and minds and they will learn the truth of HIM.

second, when i went to the ferg today for lunch and time to myself, i read in the CW about the 17-yr-old kid who killed 15 people in Germany. the kid was not accepted in school nor was he the smartest. he graduated and went back to the school and shot mainly girls and female teachers, then other civilians. this could have been prevented!!! my heart broke again for him and his family... if only someone shown him love and what it means to be accepted.

third, my social psychology class about the meaning of love and how people define and express it. we also talked about sex. it was funny and yet i didn't really like today's class. people are deceived on the meaning of love and how to show it or receive it. sex is not the answer especially if you are not married. it made me sad.

fourth (and last), at UnAshamed we talked about spring break. we need to be the light for people who are completely lost and confused. they then showed a drama on a song i don't know and it broke my heart AGAIN! they had one side a group of people having fun on the beach and the other side was a group of people in a club. Jesus was in the middle and basically everyone ignored him. it made me so sad because we do that everyday and i don't even think about it! those who are lost and confused and those who follow HIM! why do we reject him so much? have mercy on us Lord! please forgive us!

like i said, it's been a crazy day. i have loved it and God is definitely teaching me something through all of this. it has been a reminder.
